Test/review the Seat Leon ST Cupra 265, At 30. July 2017 Of The Car Freak In Test/Ride Reports
First of all, many thanks to our reader Tobias, the report of his Seat Leon ST Cupra 265 sent me this a few days ago. He was born on the occasion of a pending inspection of its Leon Cupra, with just under 25,000 km and covers, to a great extent with my own experiences, which I published in a private Test for the Leon Cupra ST 290 here.
My own comments to Tobias’ CUPRA Review, and the extent to which these with my blankets, I lead in the Form of a comment in connection to Tobias’ Test/experience report to his Seat Leon ST Cupra 265 from. Here, now, as Tobias’ experience report to its almost Leon services:
My Leon ST Cupra 265 has the beautiful and Dynamic paint, which comes especially with the wagon-body, and in contrast with the black panoramic roof to advantage Seat.
In the case of the first intensive care after the winter season, but I’m somewhat less happy with the colour: which is, in fact, particularly susceptible to rust – apart from the fact that the rust comes particularly to the fore, there is also too much of it. And after this a Winter so deep that “rubbing one out” wash with a sponge with the hand or with a soft cloth and wax no longer works. Because it would have to already have a slight Polish!
The paint seems to be particularly elastic, after nearly 11,000 km (85% A70+A66) catch-the-eye 3 evil stone beats up on the sheet on the hood. The matching paint pen costs fortunately, “only” 18€ – base paint, including clear coat.
The past Winter has also shown the other two negative sides: on-Board computer and rear: at low temperatures the on-Board computer responds, in part, very sluggish. The car is parked in the menu “CAR”, the on-Board computer so sporadically forgetful: will parked the car in the sub-menu, driving data, to see after a reboot, for example, the view sports.
In the view of “Sport” again, I’m pressure, acceleration, forces and power load to view. Sometimes, after a restart, or toggle the view to show all three “instruments” – nothing. Sometimes they also show numeric values, but the animated pointer is still Null-rash.
And all of this happens sporadically and is not reproducible; often at low but also at summer temperatures.
Crackling and Cracking in the Seat Leon ST Cupra 265
Knarzgeräusche the Cupra Yes, unfortunately, not uncommon (impudence on such a young car and at this price, all the group the better), in my case, I identified I as the main sources of the load compartment cover and the roof can sisters.
Constant temperatures below -15°C have then elicited, but also the rear axle sounds when driving over Thresholds and preferably the rear to the right. This metallic, shaving-howling noise is also noticed in the workshop directly after 15m test drive.
Comment: “Oh, Yes, there is what. Hmm, have to bring the car over, the man can say so net what is the. Since we need to reduce, probably piece by piece the panels, a test drive and see what it is.“
Well, what can I say, this diagnosis was made on the last really cold weekend. Since no abnormal noises.
Temperature, however, seems generally a Problem with the Cupra to be. Malaise in the Permafrost I let take me in a hot-blooded Spaniard, the summer would be better! But also here – in the back right. This time, the wings tend to warp.
When I saw the incongruous gap for the first Time, I thought to myself, me a somewhere on it. The second Time: I went maybe too fast…? The third Time, it was clear that one thing in Common: above +30°C!
It is hot enough, or long enough, hot enough, bulges of the fenders to the outside and forms a clear Supernatant (Fig. above), but it can be without the use of force with the Hand again pushed in, and since then, too.
Otherwise, the Leon can deal well with temperature, the engine comes very quickly to temperature and thus heat in the interior. And in the heat, conversely, the air conditioner draws in fast and hard. And that is a good thing, because despite the sun blind, the interior heats up even in light sunlight very quickly.
Regardless of the temperature, the electrical system has caused, in the meantime, another strange case. In the case of travel with a permanently switched-on low beam, were after a short tank, only the needles of the tachometer and speedometer stop non-illuminated. Driving lights and all other lights work, only the needles remained in the dark. Only after I have the light completely off and back on again everything fit; and so it is since then.
A different theme has become over time, but it’s better than bad: the circuit. In principle, a nice crisp hand circuit, beautifully translated, only the 6. could get a little longer be the speed bit deeper – on the other hand, it is so on the flat track at city speeds with the highest speed (a total of the whopping engine power can lead to switching of laziness).
If the circuit is sporty is everything wonderful, short switching paths, rich movements, clack, clack, clack, fucked up. The 5. Speed hacks time, at the beginning, it drove me a couple of times out; even brushing your teeth was already program when the Clutch pedal is faster as the switching hand. The transmission must, therefore, appear to be retracted, in the meantime, the problems are rare.
So, the third gear will sometimes not right away, if I from the 6. down want. Here you have to pay meticulous attention to, to lead the shift lever over the zero point. You can get used to it (from the Sixth gear to the third gear?- Note. Autodino).
